Mandy Gilder

In 1982 Mandy Gilder obtained a BA in Sociology /History from the then-University of Botswana and Swaziland. From 1983 to 1984, she read for a Post Graduate Diploma in Archival Science from the School of Archival Science, National Archives of India, New Delhi obtaining a First Class. Mandy worked for 9 years at the National Archives of Botswana, before leaving for Harare, Zimbabwe where I worked as a Documentalist for a Canadian-sponsored News Agency called Africa Information Afrique(AIA).

From 1991 in South Africa worked for AIA, COSATU’s National Labour and Economic Development Institute, NALEDI, the Armaments Corporation of SA, ARMSCOR. In 1997, I moved to the National Archives of South Africa (later NARSSA) up to my retirement in 2020. I was in the NARSSA for 23 years.

She has attended many ICA, SCECSAL, IFLA, UNESCO (MoW), ESARBICA etc conferences/seminars/workshops in all the corners of the world.

Currently, Mandy Gilder is an Advisor for ARCMoW.
